Decode a Kwikset SmartKey without destroying it.
The LTKSD 2.0 is a Wi-Fi digital scope that lights the inside of a SmartKey cylinder and puts the wafers on your phone screen. You read the cuts, you cut a key, you are done. No drilling, no destructive entry, no callback to replace a lock you had to kill.
I have run these tools hundreds of times and trained hundreds of people on them. Buy from me and you get help while you are learning it, especially in that first week when it matters most. You will be able to get it done.
Before you buy
Answer one question and the right tool falls out
Most of the returns and most of the frustration with this tool come from buying the wrong piece. So start here rather than at the price list.
Gen 1 through 4, or a Control Key cylinder?
The scope on its own does all of it. Pick your keyway: KW1 if you mostly see Kwikset, SC1 for the Schlage profile, or the one tool with both keys and the case if you work a mixed market.
Show me the scopes →Gen 5, and it is a KW1?
The scope alone will not read the 1, 2 and 3 depths on a Gen 5. You need the scope and the KW1-GEN5-123D accessory together. Buying the scope by itself and finding this out at a door is the worst way to learn it.
Show me the Gen 5 parts →Cylinder already out of the door, no key, and you need to make one or reset it?
Read that question carefully. The Cube is a bench tool. The cylinder has to be out of the door and in your hand. It will make you a key or reset the cylinder to a key you already have. It does not open a locked door. KW1 only.
Show me The Cube →LockTech's warning, word for word: the KW1-GEN5-123D is for Gen 5 locks only. DO NOT USE IN NON GEN5 LOCKS. And the LTKSD 2.0 scope decodes all current SmartKey locks, Gen 1, 2, 3 and 4, and SmartKey Control Key cylinders. NOT GEN 5. If you are not certain which generation you are looking at, call me before you are standing at the door.

How the tools actually work
Watch before you buy, not after. If something in one of these does not make sense, call me. I am the one holding the tool.
Decoding a Gen 1, start to finish
The basic workflow. Start here if you have never run the scope.
The SC1 keyway
Same scope, Schlage profile. Watch this if you are deciding between KW1 and SC1.
The Gen 5 accessory
What the 123D does, and why the scope alone cannot read a Gen 5.
The Cube, reset and decode
Cylinder out of the door and no key. Make one, or reset it to a key you already carry. Not a door-opening tool.
Why buy it here
The tool is identical. The help is not.
Buy this decoder anywhere and you get the same tool in the same box. So here is the actual difference, plainly.
I have run this thing literally hundreds of times, and I have trained hundreds of people on it. That matters most in the first week, which is exactly when a new tool either becomes part of your kit or ends up in a drawer.
Buy it here and you can call me while you are learning it. There is nothing to sign up for and no support plan. It is a phone number, and the person on the other end has already made every mistake you are about to make.
You will be able to get it done. I am not guessing about that. I have watched a lot of people go from never having seen one of these to decoding a cylinder in an afternoon.
How it ships
Four steps, and your card never touches this website
Simple as it gets.
You check out
Card or bank transfer, on Stripe's own secure page. This site never sees or stores a card number.
You get an order number
Every order gets one, emailed to you straight away. That number is how we both track it.
Your order is placed
Same day whenever I can manage it.
We ship it to you
USPS Priority or UPS. You get the tracking number the moment it is issued.
All sales are final once your order ships. These are precision optical instruments, and once one has been down a lock cylinder there is no way to know its optics are still true. The full reasoning, and the exceptions, are on the returns page.
The exceptions: it arrives broken, I sent the wrong thing, it never turns up, or you cancel before it ships. Any of those I make right, no argument.
Because I will not take it back after you have used it, call me before you buy if there is any doubt it fits your work. I would rather lose the sale than sell you the wrong tool.
Shipping is a flat $12 under $100, $18 up to $495, and free over $495. Questions before you buy, or you need an invoice or a PO instead? Call or text 337-316-3693.
